SCCC Colts is the 2022 champion

July-2022 produced a great reflection on the future of SCCC. The SCCC U13 team, proved their metal by emerging as the winner of the 'Under 13 Tier 3 Sunday North Central' league. The U13 team had won 7 consecutive games to end at the top of the league. The U13 win was only the 2nd time that an SCCC team was on the top of the league tables. A great start to the SCCC 2022 season.

After a shaky start to the season losing the first 2 games, the team regrouped to win all the remaining games, well almost - only interrupted by an abandoned game. A commendable feat was achieved to end the season by winning the last game against the same team who had defeated them in the first game of the season.

The young stars have produced some consistent batting performances at the top of the order, with some closing cameos in the batting performance. The top scorer helping the batting feat was Aarav Bamane, ably supported by the rest of the team chipping with partnerships at critical times. 4 of the 10 games had 130+ scores including two 150+, which ended in winning cause. Consistent 100+ scores showcase disciplined batting. 5 of the top 10 batsmen in this league were from the SCCC including the Top 3.

The disciplined bowling was complemented by great fielding. With some excellent bowling, the U13 team had managed to get the opposition all out for under 75 on a couple of occasions making it easy to chase. A gritty death bowling in a couple of close games helped the U13 team to maintain the winning streak. Ahaan Karnik was the top wicket-taker with 10+ wickets in the league. In fact, 6 of the top 10 bowlers in the league were from the SCCC, including the Top 3. Fielding was not far behind with Ishaan Haider topping the catches at the league with 3 of the Top 10 at the league from SCCC.
