A Resounding Success: Recap of our Annual Cricket Club AGM & Gala!

What a fantastic night it was! Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Gala on 09/03/2024 was a resounding success, filled with celebration, recognition, and pure Sutton Challengers spirit and fun for all ages.

A Night of Reflection and Recognition

The evening began with a warm welcome from our Chairman, setting a positive and inclusive tone. We then took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the club's incredible achievements over the past year.  Here are some highlights that truly deserve a round of applause!

• Surrey County League – 2023 – 2nd XI team promoted from Div2 to Div1. Congrats to Champions!
• U12 ranked third in the league
• Played around 120+ matches, in 4 months' time! That's some serious dedication on the pitch!
• T20 Internal Tournament – Congrats Winners Team Mandar (Blue) and Runners Boomi (Black) Let's hear it for some friendly competition!
• Indoor Tennis Ball Cricket tournament – Congrats Team, Kick Ass Krools – Venu
• Satya Srinivasan received award from Surrey Cricket League for “Highest Individual Score - 129 " A phenomenal achievement, Satya!
• SCCC YouTube channel posted 437 videos and has 1.25 Millions Views with close to 1K subscribers We're reaching new heights with our online presence!
• We are in the process of signing a long-term lease agreement with Glyn Foundation This is fantastic news for the club's future!
• Chintu and Nirmal got ECB Level 2 accreditation Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!

The AGM also provided valuable insights into the club's financial health and future plans, ensuring transparency and building excitement for what's to come.

Testing Our Cricket Knowledge & Celebrating Young Talent

But the AGM wasn't all business! We had a blast putting everyone's cricket knowledge to the test with our engaging quiz, "Test the Cricketer in You."  Congratulations to all the winners, and a big thank you to everyone who participated – it was a night filled with friendly competition and cricket trivia mastery!

Following the quiz, we were honoured to celebrate the future of our club with the Colts Awards. These young cricketers have demonstrated exceptional dedication, sportsmanship, and impressive skills on the field. Their talent and passion are truly inspiring, and we look forward to seeing them continue to flourish!

Fun for All Ages & Recognizing Cricket Excellence

While the adults enjoyed the formalities, our younger cricket enthusiasts were well taken care of!  The dedicated area with fun-filled games and activities kept them entertained throughout the evening, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.

As the night progressed, we acknowledged the outstanding achievements of our adult cricketers with the presentation of our annual awards. These awards celebrate exceptional performances, leadership qualities, and the significant contributions made by these individuals to the club's success. Congratulations to all the award winners – your dedication to the sport is truly commendable!

Dinner, Music, and Memories Made!

A delicious dinner provided the perfect opportunity for everyone to relax, network, and share stories from the past season. It was a heart warming display of camaraderie and our shared love for the game.

After dinner, the atmosphere transformed into a lively social hour. While the DJ kept the party going with a vibrant mix of tunes. It was a fantastic way to end the evening on a high note!
