SCCC AGM 2023

In continuation with its annual tradition, SCCC hosted its 2023 Annual General Meeting on Sunday, 2nd April 2023 to officially kick start the 2023 Cricket Season. The meeting spanned over 4 hours including Welcome drinks, Presentation and Q&A, Food and After Meet Social.

Attendance and Agenda: The AGM was graced in large number by its core members (old and new) and Sponsors.  

Tanmay Karkare (Chairman) led the presentation  covering key topics like - Club Achievements (Seniors and Colts), Teams for 2023 season, Fixtures Schedule and New Home ground update. This was followed by an update from Himanshu Porwal (Fundraising Officer) on our Fund Raising Initiatives, and a quick introduction and thank you note for our esteemed Sponsors (UkHomes4U, Lithe, The Cricket Lounge). Bharat Gupta (Treasurer) then shared a detailed overview of our Annual Accounts. We then welcomed all our newly joined members and concluded with Lunch and After Meet Social.

A quick overview of some of the topics discussed is as follows

Club Achievements (Seniors and Colts):

Champions 1st XI and 2nd XI promoted from Div 3 to Div 2 in Surrey County League

U13 Div 3 Champions in Surrey Juniors

U11 ranked 3rd in the league

Dev (U11), Dheer (U12), And Ayush (U13) qualified for Surrey Performance Cricket

SCCC won "Club of the Month Award twice in 2022 season

Div 3 2nd XI won all the games played (100% Win ratio)

New Home Ground @ "PRIEST HILL, GLYNN SCHOOL". Secured long term lease for two squares so we can play two home games every Saturday. Also gives access for outdoor practise sessions on Friday.

2023 Teams - In a First ever, SCCC will be playing 4 league teams (Seniors) in Surrey County league and Surrey Cricket league. In Colts, SCCC colts will represent in U11, U12 and U14. Apart from this, there will be Sunday friendly games. Overall, we plan to play 117 matches in 2023 season (excluding T20s and internal matches).

SCCC Colts and Girl's Cricket: 6 members of the club will be participating in ECB foundation course for coaching. Colts will play U11, U12 and U14 Surrey Junior leagues. SCCC is also committed to promoting Girl's cricket and will support them to gain some real game experience this season.

Social Events:  Following its past tradition, the Club plans to have Internal T20 Tournament, Family Fun Day, Christmas Dinner/Bollywood Night and International Cricket Tour to Spain/Germany.
