Colts Coaching

Cricket colts coaching is an essential aspect of developing young talent and ensuring the future of the sport. A well-structured coaching program is vital in helping young players to learn the necessary skills and techniques to play the game effectively.

Our clubs's colts coaching programs aim to provide youngsters with a solid foundation in cricket skills, strategy, and game awareness. These programs focus on developing physical abilities, such as hand-eye coordination, agility, and balance, as well as improving mental skills, including decision-making and focus.

Coaching programs typically start with basic skills, such as grip, stance, and footwork, and progress to more advanced skills like batting, bowling, fielding, and wicket-keeping. Additionally, colts coaching programs place emphasis on teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, which are essential in cricket.

The importance of colts coaching cannot be overstated. It plays a crucial role in developing the next generation of cricketers and ensuring that the sport remains strong in the years to come. The coaching programs provide a safe and structured environment for young players to learn, practice, and improve their skills.

In addition to developing skills, colts coaching programs provide young players with opportunities to socialise and make friends with like-minded individuals who share a passion for cricket. These programs can also serve as a stepping stone for players to progress to higher levels of the sport, such as county and national teams.

Coaching programs are often run by volunteers, Chintu is our head coach and is a ECB certified trainer. A total of 15 trained coaching staff are available in club and every coaching session sees 6-8 coaches partaking in the class. Tanmay our club secretary is also personally involved in mentoring youngster. We  have a well defined structure that is tailored around personalised training rather than generically applying it to all.  Support staff generously donate their time and expertise to help develop young talent.

Each season, we see a tremendous increase in enrolment, in year 2022 we had 40 colts registered and this year the number has shot up to 60.

We have a regular meet-ups with parents and guardians to update them on players feedback. Infact some of the parents have also been involved in managing the nets session and have been phenomenal in bolstering our already strong coaching group. Regular home assignments are given to players which they can practice indoors or outdoors.

The motto of our club is  to provide young players with the opportunity to develop their skills, learn important life skills, and make new friends in a safe and structured environment.
