About Us
Picture this: it's the year 2010, and a handful of cricket fanatics come together, driven by their shared passion for Cricket. What started as a single friendly team snowballed into a thriving community of over 100 members. Seeing the enthusiasm and camaraderie in the community, Sutton Challengers CC formally established and registered itself as a club affiliated with Surrey Cricket Foundation and ECB in 2015.
Fast forward to today, SCCC has 125+ registered members playing competitive and friendly cricket at various levels and age groups.
- 3 Colts teams play U11, U12 and U13 cricket in the Surrey Junior Cricket Championship.
- 4 Saturday League teams compete in the Surrey County & Surrey Cricket Leagues.
- 1 Team Sunday plays friendly cricket in the Surrey area
SCCC also organises indoor & outdoor net sessions overseen by ECB-qualified coaches throughout the year for the continuous development of Adult and Colts players.
Since its inception, Sutton Challengers CC has fostered cricket at the grassroots level with the following primary objectives:
- To promote amateur cricket participation within the community.
- Make cricket easily accessible to locals.
- To provide facilities for cricket, opportunities for recreation and competition.
- To promote cricket among young people by providing quality coaching and facilities.
In addition to the above, SCCC also conducts an annual internal T20 tournament every summer and an Indoor Cricket tournament during the off-season. These tournaments have almost 80+ players participating in them, who said cricket is a summer game, "THE CRICKETING SEASON NEVER ENDS AT SCCC"
